JEDDAH: Russian President Vladimir Putin has paid fulsome compliments to Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Friday.
In a wide-ranging interview to Bloomberg, Putin said: “Prince Mohammed bin Salman is a very reliable partner with whom you can reach agreements, and can be certain that those agreements will be honored.”
Putin is due to meet the deputy crown prince at the G20 summit in Hangzhou, China, on Sunday.
According to Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov, Putin will discuss Syrian crisis and the oil supply freeze proposal with the deputy crown prince.
Putin is the second highest ranking world leader to praise the deputy crown prince in such glowing terms.
Earlier, US President Barack Obama said he was surprised with the deputy crown prince’s crystal clear ideas about the global economy and Saudi Arabia’s relationship with the outside world.
“He is wise beyond his years,” is how Obama described him after their meeting in May 2015 at the United States-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit at Camp David.
